The small seeds of Plums and Pumpkins began to take root in 2020 when founder, Shalyn Brooks, began making Minky blankets for her family. She wanted to bring comfort to her loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when anxiety, isolation and loneliness were felt around the globe.

Initially, she searched for a fashionable and cozy blanket that would match each family member’s unique personality. When she couldn’t find what she was looking for, she created the first adult-size Minky blanket along with other smaller sizes for her children. Everyone who experienced these incredibly soft blankets swooned over them. Soon she was getting requests to create more….two more, 10 more, 20 more – giving them to those in need or going through a hard time. This led to selling them at a local gift shop to customers who longed for luxurious comfort. Today, Plums and Pumpkins’ Minkies are sold online, at shows and in several North Carolina locations.

The Plums and Pumpkins brand is a blend of luxurious sophistication and creative handcraftsmanship. Our Minky product line includes blankets, pillows, lovies, lavender wraps and more. Our blankets and pillows can also be customized so you get the exact Minky you’re looking for.
